This brought tears to my eyes. I think the only hunting that should be allowed is for food and NO TROPHY hunting. Training dogs to kill other animals may make the dogs more aggressive to other pets at home. I'm glad Wiley now has a good home and is able to sing every night.

The DNR bombardment in our media is pure & simple attempts @ indoctrination of the masses designed to fuel a killing frenzy of wolves, bears & wildlife in general. These stats are presented in the context of news. The DNR is an government agency run a amuck who is steamrolling it's way into total control over all public & soon will attempt control over private lands as evidenced by the night hunting with dogs legislation. This happened in 1994 in Rwanda (some will be offended by my analogy). The Tutsis slaughtered by torture, machetes & clubs 500,000-800,000 Hutus in 100 days. This happened partially because media fueled people into such a fever pitch that they were willing to kill neigbors, friends & family. This is about to happen to our wildlife.

Barbara, I agree with everything that you said except for the godless part. Most of the people that perpetrate these acts consider themselves proud Christians. Many more use religion to justify their barbaric acts on animals and the defenseless all over the world. In my opinion the absence of religion would be the best thing to ever happen to our global community. Of course I am an outspoken non-believer so I am just stating my opinion.

“Even though these are minimum number counts, how many areas within the state are not covered?

“(This could) greatly add to a more stable and accurate count, and hopefully give a number closer to maximum population numbers,”

Either this guy has his head up his butt and he hasn't the slightest idea what "minimum yearly population" means, or he's trying to shift public perceptions so that the management goal is 350 wolves INCLUDING the pups of the year at the maximum point... what an ass. Shouldn't be allowed near the state's wolves.
