Brutal Trapping Pictures Go Nationwide

28 Mar

On Friday, I posted a story called “To Some This Brutality is Recreation” about a horrific set of pictures that showed a trapper posing for a picture while a bleeding and suffering wolf left a bloody trail in the background. Today, James W. Gibson, a writer for the Earth Island Journal, posted a story about this incident. It turns out that the trapper who goes by the screen name “Pinching” is an employee of the U.S. Forest Service. The story and pictures are here:

**Warning** These pictures are very disturbing and graphic.

Wolf Torture and Execution Continues in the Northern Rockies

Please share these horrific pictures with everyone that you can. This is what wolves are facing all over this country. This person made sure to have his grinning picture taken while this poor wolf walked around with a trap on his paw and left a huge swath of snow covered in blood. Two people even shot at the wolf from the road before the trapper arrived. Also please contact the below agencies to express your outrage.

These trappers are being exposed……..Not only do I want his job I want him to be deprived of that trophy wolf mount that he doesn’t deserve. This info will fit nicely with the other information on the story that the authorities in the USFWS have. Let this slob trapper try to intimidate us

It takes a “real man” to torture and maim defenseless animals. Shame! You have to wonder what kind of woman would want anything to do with this kind of person.

And Suzanne- it takes a man’s man to threaten a couple of middle aged women who run an anti-trapping website………These guys are cowards. The Fish and Game model of wildlife management caters to this type of brutality. Trappers are protected and shielded by this outdated model. Commissions take input from trappers as to how long animals should be allowed to stay in traps- and rarely is the welfare of the animal discussed….That is wrong…..It is always about the convenience level of the trapper- when they can get to the traps etc…….In a humane world the focus should be on the welfare of the animal. People outside this inner circle of killers are labeled “antis” or liberal tree huggers

We need to make sure we can expose pictures like these in Wisconsin. Start writing your comments for the Congress meetings. Did any one read in the Cap Times this week that the Ojibwe will probably sue?
