Killing as entertainment. What a wonderful “tradition.”

Today, I came across an article promoting what appears to be a “snuff film” for anti-wolf extremists all over the country. The Sportsman Channel brags that:

“First-Ever Wolf Hunt in the Lower 48 Captured on Film to Air on Sportsman Channel. Conservation Historian, Randy Newberg, Takes Viewers on an 11-Day Spot and Stalk Wolf Hunt”

Please have your barf bags handy after reading this:

“The two-part episode explains much of the history of the reintroduction of wolves and how a hunting season became possible. But viewers will also see how much work Clyde and Newberg put in just to stalk one, lone, wolf. The men stretch their hunting over a 11-day period as they encounter fast moving wolves, confusion if the animal is coyote or wolf, changing winds and other hunters. “Wolf hunting is the most difficult thing you can do. If you want to do fair chase spot and stalk hunting, then you’ve come to the right place,” said Newberg.  “It’s a whole lot of effort of hiking and glassing, hiking and glassing and then suddenly, it gets real interesting.”

So wolf hunting is “the most difficult thing you can do?” Really? Tell that to our soldiers overseas whose prey actually shoot back. Tell that to people who work real jobs each and every day. This is wildlife killing exploitation at it’s worst. At the end of the article this is what the so-called “conservationist” Newberg says:

“Hunters are responsible for every species being as abundant as they are today. It wasn’t this way 80 years ago. Hunters should make no apologies for participating in our role as managing this species. I will never apologize for the fact that I hunt wolves. Every day I can hunt wolves, I will be there. I will have my rifle, I will have my tag and a wolf may be in trouble,” concluded Newberg.”

What a man! I am so impressed. No apologies. Of course not. The big tough guy apparently kills animals for a living, and then exploits it for the “horn-porn” television industry like “The Sportsman Channel.” Animals suffer so this clown and his sadistic followers can derive their sick pleasure from it. What kind of person watches something like this? I believe I answered that in this post. What’s next? Mass shooters videotaping and broadcasting their killing exploits in temples and movie theaters? That was rhetorical, but it takes a pretty sick mind to enjoy watching something being killed. “Hard work” indeed.

rafi – go to the Missoulian and read a new opinion on trappers being psychotic or something close to that. Leave an opinion if you can log in. People out there are getting a backbone I hope. I know it’s a little scary to write anti-hunting letters to the Editor.

There are a lot of sickos out there who get off on watching suffering and death. It is known as “horn-porn.” As a society we have apparently come to accept this exploitation of death to be perfectly acceptable. Notice how they keep trying to push the myth that hunters are the ones “saving” wildlife. They are the reason why wildlife numbers originally were pushed to the brink and now they want the credit for not killing all of them off. They don’t fool me. The only reason they want to “conserve” wildlife is so there is enough for them to shoot. If they couldn’t have yearly slaughters does anyone really think that they would spend one cent to protect wildlife or wild lands? A few may but not many. What have we become as a society where killing is considered “recreation?”

I called and spoke to Michelle of the Sportsmen’s Channel. She touted all the “work” the hunters had to go through in the 11 day stalking to kill this wolf ( how hard it was), and mouthed their party line that wolves need to be “managed”. I ended up arguing with her about killing as “management” and the farming for high deer and elk herds (which happen to be higher than they were before wolf protection – and no doubt, much healthier). I told her there would be others calling her, so I hope you do. She said this would air. So I asked her to contact Howling for Wolves and get some other point of view aired to balance it out. I think contacting them and offering them other videos and information to air would be helpful.

The management that must be offered is providing large core areas of land protected from man for natural systems to work, connected by migration corridors for genetic diversity and natural movement, and large carnivores returned to the landscape in natural numbers…while educating the public how to live with nature in a respectful way. One should be willing to live with large carnivores as they do in Buddhist countries, protecting oneself with reasonable measures and if you want to live in wilderness, respect wilderness. If you do not want to live in the country and have wilderness, move to the cities.

I will send them the Madravenspeak wolf columns and the links to various videos. If you have more ideas, have at it. Hopefully, more voices will move them to give another point of view as well.

Newberg is an idiot. He says: ““Hunters are responsible for every species being as abundant as they are today. It wasn’t this way 80 years ago.” Of course it wasn’t this way 80 years ago because the hunters killed the wildlife off. It has taken decades to bring them back and he and his ilk want to kill them off again! Disgusting and moronic!

That is exactly it. They always are the first to shout how they are “responsible” for bringing many animals back from the brink of extinction. What they neglect to mention that they wouldn’t need to be protected if their ilk didn’t almost eradicate them in the first place. These clowns are class A hypocrites and channels like this “Sportsman Channel” are nothing more than “horn-porn” for the sadists among us. There are far too many among us who are celebrated for their sick and sadistic acts. I hope one day humanity wakes up and ostracizes these barbarians before it is too late.
