We Need Your Help for Fighting Bob Fest 2012

02 Sep

On September 15th of this year the annual progressive gathering, Fighting Bob Fest, is scheduled to take place  at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison. Wisconsin Wildlife Ethic-Vote Our Wildlife plans to set up a table to educate people about what is happening to the wildlife in our state. This is where you come in. We are asking all living wildlife advocates to help us with expenses or volunteer to man help man the table. This is an excellent opportunity to educate the public about what really happens in the woods and behind closed doors in our state. Here is some information about the 11th Annual Fighting Bob Fest:

If you are interested in donating please use the “Donate Now” button on the right side of the screen. Please be assured that any and all donations will be used to offset the costs for printing brochures and tabling fees for this and future events. If you are interested in volunteering to help us with the table please click on the “Contact Us” link at the top of the page or email us at

If you cannot volunteer or donate please come by the Fighting Bob Fest to say hi and check out the other tables and booths that promote progressive causes.

Melissa – do you want to help man the booth for Wildlife Ethic and talk to people about the wolf, trapping, and help us raise money for a billboard?

I will donate and see if any Dems are going to Bob Fest. I could hitch a ride with them. I’ll check that out at Dem hdqrts. this week.

Considering that I am the co-founder of this group I should be there. Unfortunately my job may not let me off that day. I will do my best to be there because I want to meet all of our fellow living wildlife advocates who attend. If not we plan to have a gathering some time soon with all of the area living wildlife advocates to come up with a true game plan.

I write the Madravenspeak column and am co-founder of Wildlife Ethic. I will be there, but it is turning out to be quite expensive to provide what I think needs to be done. We would like to get out 500 bumperstickers for Bobfest and this site – buttons I LOVE WOLVES AND I VOTE …and a vinyl banner. It costs $370.00 plus tax for 500 standard two color bumper stickers at cost. $350.00 plus tax for 500 plain 2 and 1/2 inch buttons, and $120.00 for a 6 foot by 2 and 1/2 foot banner that can be used at all tabling for events to give our name and purpose. Plus I talked them down to $100 for the booth. Hopefully we can sell enough at the booth to offset some of the initial costs – but please donate to help us spread bumperstickers across the state. We need about $700.00 more to float this. And we also need some literature to hand out. Being there and talking to people is also important. People just have a few minutes to stop as they walk by. If we can engage them and outrage them, we can grow this as a movement.

Please do what you can to help! Thanks! For the wolves and bears and all wildlife.

The bear slaughter starts day after tomorrow, Sept 5 – October 9 and dogs can be run unlimited throughout except for the first week. The bears have been run non-stop by over 10,000 since July 1 when they should be teaching their cubs and putting on fat for winter – now 4.600 of them will be killed – about 150 every day – and 100 of them killed every day will be bear toddlers 8 months old to a year and a half.

We need to end this. NOW.
